Congratulations Bill Allen

“When I was young, I was always attracted to fire equipment and the firefighters. After I was married, we bought a house in Fairhaven Heights, and I joined Sunset Fire Department in 1976. I began to assume more responsibility, and eventually rose in the ranks to become a fire chief, a member of the administrative officers, and a representative to the North Versailles Relief Association.”

FDNV congratulates Bill Allen as its firefighter of the month for December. Bill has over 30 years of service with the fire department in North Versailles. During the course of those years, Bill has dedicated countless hours to the betterment of the department and community. He was even recognized by the North Versailles Board of Commissioners for his bravery in rescuing an elderly woman who had re-entered her burning home to retrieve personal items. He and two other firefighters were congratulated for going “above and beyond the call of duty.”
